Objective
To develop a practical toolbox for the design and optimization of wind power station control strategies.

Results
A simple toolbox has been developed for wind farm control optimization based on “LongSim” and the “fatigue loads database” which takes account of:

  • Spatial and temporal wind field variations.
  • Wake effects.
  • Detailed turbine dynamic response.

Value created
The toolbox is a first step allowing the offer of wind farm control design and optimization services:

  • Optimized sector management strategies.
  • Optimal response to externally-imposed output constraints.
