A gathering of the brightest minds in program planning, implementation, evaluation, technology deployment, marketing, DSM business issues, policy and more will be in Niagara Falls to share their insights, experiences and knowledge on the emerging trends in energy efficiency and the direction of the industry.
DNV GL's Jay Silva will present "Moving Beyond Lighting to Achieve Energy Efficiency Program Savings in a Significant Industrial Customer Base," on how energy efficiency programs can move beyond lighting and find significant savings from the utility’s large C&I customers. AEP Ohio has offered energy efficiency programs to help non‐residential customers achieve incentives for their energy‐saving projects since 2009. Like any other program in the country, most of the energy savings came from lighting measures installed in small‐ and mid‐size businesses. As the program matured, however, its approach pivoted.
Edward Smyth will present "Moving New York Commercial HVAC Marketplace into REV: Applying Lessons Learned for Market Animation Goals." This presentation will disuss the significant change in New York State's clean energy marketplace under the Reforming the Energy Vision (REV). The commercial HVAC industry in New York will play an important role in REV, and moving HVAC midstream actors from an incentives-centric projects approach towards an adoption of clean energy business models will directly contribute to the significant market transformation goals under REV. DNV GL is applying learned lessons from the NYSERDA HVAC Business Partners program to move the program design to a comprehensive and systematic RTU optimization approach called SQ3.
