Arnhem, the Netherlands
English and Dutch; course material in English
Major power failures can have a serious impact on the economy and on critical infrastructure functions. For individual businesses and consumers, the impact is on a smaller scale but by no means less serious. Successfully protecting power systems and related high-voltage equipment against major power failures depends on identifying the most effective protection and control technology for T&D assets. It also requires the most appropriate substation implementation or upgrade solution. With the advances in protection and communication technology in recent decades, the take-off of renewable generation and its impact on the utility infrastructure, such identification and implementation activities are extremely challenging.
In a series of three courses, the fundamentals of power system protection are presented.
The series consists of:
> a two-day session Introduction to power system protection
> a three-day session Overcurrent & earth fault protection
> a three day session Differential and impedance protection
The courses have been developed in cooperation with several DNV GL experts in this field. For more information, please refer to the brochure.
The courses will be run in 2012 on dates yet to be determined. Please send us an e-mail if you are interested in these courses. We will then keep you informed on the dates.
Upon request, KDNV EMA can also provide an in-house training course in English or Dutch (content, location and duration of the course can be adapted to the client's wishes). Please contact us for more information.
